This page provides information and details about Sound Library PCM Cards suitable for the Roland U-110, U-20 Keyboard and U-220 Sound Module.

The Roland U-110, U-20 and U-220 Tone set can be expanded by employing the PCM slots provided. Four slots are available on the U-110 and two slots on the U-20 and U-220. Suitable Sound Library PCM Cards include the SN-U110 series (a total of 15 PCM cards) and SN-MV30-S1 series.

Timbres and Patches created using the additional Tones available on these PCM Cards will require that the relevant PCM card is installed whenever those Timbres/Patches are to be used/accessed. The PCM Card Tone data is not copied/stored permanently in the U-20 and U-220 memory.

Please be aware that some PCM Cards offered for sale online may no longer be functional.

It is worth asking the vendor whether they can verify that the card being offered for sale actually works. If the provided photo shows a beaten up card, pass it by - you can't fix these if they are broken or have corrupted data.

Prices for Sound Library PCM cards can vary dramatically from around AUD $40 (seems to be average) up to AUD $120 per card.

Given that a U-220 can be had for under $200, that makes the cost of these Sound Library cards appear particularly steep. With the vastly better tech available today, it is very hard to justify the expense of these cards just to pad out the existing tone set.

Expanded / Content Information is available for the following cards:

Important:
I have not yet heard the samples contained on these cards, so there is no point asking what I think of them or which I consider to be the best and/or better value.

Please Note: The PCM samples (Tones) on cards SN-U110-08 and SN-U110-09 are already included on the U-20, U-220 and D-70's internal ROM.
